Paneer butter masala - Restaurant style




Paneer butter masala is a veg curry which is served along with chapati , roti , parotta , fried rice . It will be a excellent choice of side dish and also as a main course . It is a creamy , sweet gravy made with butter , cream , cashews and spices . 

Paneer is also known as Indian cheese or Indian cottage cheese which is from milk . This fresh cheese is made form curdled milk and some sort of fruit and vegetables acid like lemon extract . 



Many questions that paneer has a fat which spoil their fitness . But if is not . Paneer has 8 grams of protein and 8 grams of fat . Their source is not that much rich . So , it make fit not fat .

Paneer butter masala ;

Preparation time : 10 minutes

Cooking time : 30 minutes

Serve : 3-4 members

Now , let us move on to ingredients and it's preparation .

 Ingredients :

  • Paneer - 250 g
  • Onion - 1 big size
  • Tomato - 4 medium size
  • Butter 
  • Cream
  • Cashewnut  - 5-6
  • Ginger 
  • Garlic
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Cinnamon - 1
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Kasuri methi
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Chilli powder
  • Garam masala

Method of preparation :

  • In a non stick pan add 1 tablespoon of butter .
 
  • Once the butter melts , add the chopped onion and stir .

  • Once you notice the color changes of onion slightly add the chopped tomatoes .

  • Then , add a small size ginger and 2-3 strands of garlic and 5-6 Cashewnut .

  • Cook well till the tomato gets a soft texture . Once it done , take off from the flame .
 
  • Then , let the onion , tomato mixture to cool .

  • Make a onion tomato base by blending the cooked mixture of onion , tomato . The consistency should be like a paste .

  • Then , take a non stick pan add 3-4 tablespoon of butter .

  • Once the butter melts add 1 bay leaf , 1 cinnamon , 2 cardamom to that butter .

  • Then , after a minute add the onion tomato paste to it .

  • Then , add the spices . 1 tablespoon of garam masala , 1 tablespoon of chilli powder , 1/2 tablespoon of sugar and salt to your taste . 

( Sugar is to balance the taste of sour by tomato ) 

  • Close the pan with lid and let it cook for 7-8 minutes in a medium flame .

  • Cut the paneer into small cubes and add that to it .

  • Then , add kasuri methi which is nothing but dried fenugreek leaves . Crush few leaves of it by placing it between your palms and then add it .

  • Finally , add 1 tablespoon of cream if you don't want to add cream , you can also add 1 tablespoon of butter instead of that .

   Our paneer butter masala is ready ! 

  • Serve the hot paneer butter masala for chapati or rotti with a great love .
