Chocolate Lava cake recipe at home - as a Christmas special

So , to welcome this warm Christmas season and to rejoice it , we are going to celebrate it with preparations of a yummy and delicious cake recipes . Now , in this blog I'm going to share you , a chocolate Lava cake recipe .

Introduction : 


Chocolate Lava cake or molten chocolate cake is one of the popular dessert . It is made up of butter , egg and chocolate which serves as a main ingredients for this cake baking . But , now I'm going to share you this recipe without egg . It is a delicious chocolate cake with gooey molten centre . 

Cake recipe - chocolate Lava cake 


Note : 

⏱️ preheating time : 425°F in oven ; 15 minutes in cooker 
⏲️ preparation time : 10 minutes
🕰️ Baking time : 8-9 minutes in oven ; 10-12 minutes in cooker .

Ingredients :

  • Maida / all purpose flour 
  • Choco powder 
  • Powdered sugar 
  • Baking soda
  • Baking powder 
  • Oil / butter 
  • Milk
  • Chocolate 
  • Vanilla extract
( Measurements are given below in the preparation column ) 

Preheating :


If you are going to bake in oven ; 

Preheat the oven to 425° F ( 218°C ).

If you are going to bake in cooker ; 

Preheat the cooker for 15 minutes in a medium flame . 

Before preheating the cooker , spread the layer of salt on the base . Above that place a stand and plate on that to balance the ramekin in which you are going to bake the cake . 

Chocolate melting : 


For chocolate Lava cake recipe , we should melt the chocolate in a double boiling procedure . 

  • In a pan heat the water . 

  • When the water starts to boil , place the another of chocolate in that boiling water by holding it tightly . 

  • Place it until the chocolate melts . After that turn off the flame and take off the chocolate pan out of water . 

Preparation of cup :


For baking , this chocolate Lava cake , first you have to prepare the cup in which you are going to bake . For Lava cake , ramekins are best . If you don't have ramekins , you can also use any other small aluminium moulds which suits as like ramekins to bake the Lava cake .

Grease the ramekins or the mould which you choose for baking with butter . 

Tip : keep the butter in a room temperature before you start to prepare the cake . 

After applying butter , dust the ramekins with either maida or with coco powder . 

Tap the ramekins to remove the excess maida or coco powder from it . 

Why should the ramekins should be greased and dusted ? 

This procedure prevents the cake from sticking , tearing or breaking while you take it off from the pan after baking . 

Preparation of batter : 


  • In a mixing bowl , add 1 cup of maida or all purpose flour . 

  • To this , add 1/2 cup of cocoa powder , 2 cup of powdered sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda , 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder .

  • Mix all these ingredients well . And sieve all these well . 

  • Then , add 2 tablespoon of butter , 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract . 

  • Then , add 3/4 th cup of milk and mix .

Tip : the consistency of batter should be slight watery means a flowing consistency .

  • After adding milk whisk well . 

  • Then , to this add the melted chocolate which you prepared before .

  • Again whisk once well . 

Baking :

  • After preparing the batter for cake , take the ramekins which you dusted before . 

  • Now , pour the batter 3/4th of the each ramekin . 

  • Place 2-3 pieces of chocolate on each ramekin and with the help of spoon gently push it inside and cover with batter . 

In pressure cooker :

In a cooker , it takes 10-12 minutes in a medium - high flame . 

In microwave oven :

It takes 8-9 minutes approximately in 450 F .

After the given minutes over , take it off from the heat and let it cool for 5 minutes . Then , place the ramekin upside down in a plate and tap it gently . The cake will get removed from the ramekin . 

Now , sprinkle a small amount of powdered sugar on that and serve with love . 

Cooking tips : 


Why baking soda and baking powder is added for cake baking ? 

Baking soda helps the cake to rise up and doesn't let it to flat . Baking powder helps the cake in a soft and lighten the texture by enlarging the air bubbles in the batter .
