Introduction : 

Egg manchurian is a spicy and delicious recipe which makes us mouth watering . Manchurian has many types ; it can be done with cauliflower ( gobi ) , chicken , prawn , fish, egg , mutton . 

Here , I'm going to share you all a egg manchurian recipe . The recipe is done by boiling / steaming the egg , frying it deeply and finally coated with three types of sauces to give a fantabulous dish . It is a perfect side dish for chapati , naan , Paratha and dosa . Even you can enjoy this along with fried rice or whatever the choice you have . For all it is a great match . 

I have explained you in step by step starting from ingredients list to manchurian preparation with some heath tips about eggs . 

Ingredients :

  • Egg - 7
  • Maida - 1/2 cup
  • Corn flour - 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1 ( big ) 
  • Capsicum - 1 
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tablespoon
  • Chilli powder - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Tomato ketchup - 1 tablespoon
  • Soya sauce - 1/2 tablespoon
  • Chilli sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Pepper 
  • Oil

Note : 

🕰️ preparation time : 10 minutes
⏲️ Boiling / steaming time : 10-15 minutes
⏱️ Cooking time : 15-20 minutes 
🔖Serving temperature : hot 
🔖 Course : side dish 

It's preparation : 

Either you can boil the egg or else you can steam it before to start the preparation manchurian . 

Boiling : 
  • In a cooking pot , heat the water in a high flame . 

  • To this , add 6 eggs slowly and gently or else it will break . 

  • After 5 minutes the water starts to boil . 

  • To get a full boiled egg you have to wait for 10 - 15 minutes . 

  • After 10 - 15 minutes , turn off the flame and let it cool . 

  • Then , remove the egg shell from it . 

Steaming :

  • Steaming can be done either in cooker or in steamers . 

Tip : but for eggs you can prefer steamers instead of cooker . 

  • Take a small mixing bowl , grease the bowl with oil and add 6 beaten eggs and place the bowl in the steamer and let it for 10 -15 minutes in a medium flame . 

Tip : Add the required amount of salt and pepper in a beaten egg before steaming . 

  • After 10 - 15 minutes take off the bowl from the steamer and turn off the flame . 

  • Take the steamer egg from the bowl gently by taping the bowl upside down . 

Batter preparation :

  • In a mixing bowl , add 1/2 cup of maida , 1/2 cup of corn flour , 1/2 tablespoon chilli powder , required amount of salt , 1 egg .

  • Mix altogether well by adding some water .

Tip : the consistency should be in batter , not too thick or too watery . According to that add water . ( Add water gradually and mix then it will be easy to get the perfect consistency ) 

Frying egg : 


  • To fry the egg , dip the egg pieces which you steamed / boiled and made them into small pieces in a batter which you prepared . 

  • The batter should be coated on all sides of steamed egg of each pieces . 

  • In frying pan , add oil to fry the eggs . 

  • Once the oil gets heated , add the eggs which you coated in the batter . 

Tip : Don't rush while placing the coated eggs on the oil . Then the oil will sprinkle on you . Maintain the flame in medium . 

  • Add the coated eggs section by section and fry . Don't fry all the pieces at the same time.

  • Both the sides of the egg pieces should be fried well and should be crispy . 

  • Once it cooked well , take off from the oil and strain the oil completely and transfer it to a separate plate . 

  • Likewise , fry all the egg pieces , strain the oil , transfer to the plate and turn off the flame . 

Tip : If you want to transfer the oil to the seperate bowl or Bottle to store , don't do it while the oil is hot . Let it cool . 

Manchurian preparation : 

  • In a pan , add 2-3 tablespoon of oil and heat it for a minute in a medium flame . 

  • To this , add 1 finely chopped onion , 1 finely chopped capsicum , 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste and saute it well . 

Tip : the raw smell of ginger garlic paste should disappear . 

  • Once the colour of the onion changes , add the sauces .

  • Add 1 tablespoon of chilli sauce , 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce ( ketchup ) , 1/2 tablespoon of Soya sauce and saute it well .

  • Let it cook for 2 minutes in a medium flame itself . 

  • Then , add salt a little , because sauce itself contains salt . So , if you want you can add little . 

  • If you want a semi gravy consistency then , in bowl add 1 tablespoon of corn flour and 1/2 cup of water and mix it well . Add this , to the preparing manchurian to get a semi gravy . 

  • If you want dry , don't add corn flour water.  Directly you can add the fried egg pieces . 

  • The next step is adding fried egg pieces to the preparing manchurian . 

  • Saute it once gently . Cook for 2 minutes in a medium flame and turn off the flame . 

  • Finally , garnish it either with coriander leaves or with spring onions .

Our egg manchurian is ready ! 

Serve the hot and spicy egg manchurian with lots of love . 

Health tips :
